The Club

A new legacy is born

Shogun does not want to be just another gym. It is a space conceived, designed and led by judokas, for judokas.

We are in our Establishment Stage 2026–2028: building structure, community, reputation and a long-term identity. An open-tatami club that invites the community to practice judo and become part of its culture.

Mission

To establish a self-sufficient judo club that drives the personal, professional and athletic development of its members.

Vision

To be a judo club by judokas, for judokas, with an open tatami that invites the community to practice the sport, becoming a reference in training and athletic specialization.

The Shogun Code

Four pillars, one identity

The values that shape every decision, every training session and every judoka in the club.

Autonomy

Decisions made round-table, through committees, preserving our independence. We engage with federations and organizations without depending on them.

Self-sufficiency

The ability to generate and manage our own resources: financial, structural and human. We grow on our own strength.

Respect

For the values of bushido and the martial hierarchy. Respect for the tatami, the sensei, the team and the path we choose to walk.

Recognition

Of the merit and effort of every member. Every step of progress, every act of discipline and every contribution deserves to be seen.

Training method

How we train

Every class follows a structure designed to train body, technique and character safely and progressively.

  1. 01

    Warm-up

Physical activation and mobility to prepare the body.

  2. 02

    Falls & safety

Ukemi: learning to fall is the foundation for fearless training.

  3. 03

    Technique

Throws, grips and groundwork according to level.

  4. 04

    Partner work

Uchi-komi and guided repetition with a partner.

  5. 05

    Formative games

For the youngest: learning through play, safely.

  6. 06

    Controlled randori

Free, supervised practice to apply what's been learned.

  7. 07

    Discipline & respect

Bow, rituals and closing: judo begins and ends with respect.

Competition path

From grassroots training to high-level competition

For those who want to go further, we map out a clear athletic development route.

01

Local tournaments

First competitive experiences in a close, safe environment.

02

National competition

Representation at championships and the National Sports Games.

03

International projection

Opportunities for judokas who reach high performance.

04

Athlete development

A complete plan: technique, physical, mental and support.

Track record

Experience that supports you from day one

Shogun is just getting started. While we build the club's story, our coaching team already brings results, certifications and years of work on the tatami.

Why judo

What your child takes home from the tatami

Judo is one of the most complete disciplines for the development of children and teens. The evidence is clear.

Confidence
Discipline
Focus
Respect
Coordination
Balance
Emotional control
Healthy physical development

Research on martial arts for children shows improvements in coordination, balance, agility, flexibility, strength and cardiorespiratory fitness.

The judo promise

More than a martial art — a way to build character

Judo is not only about technique. It is a path: the gentle way that teaches you to yield in order to win, to fall in order to rise again, and to respect your partner as much as your rival. At Shogun we build people, not just athletes.

Maximum efficiency, minimum effort. Mutual welfare and benefit.

Principles of judo
The values of judo

The soul of the tatami

The eight values the International Judo Federation recognizes as the heart of this discipline. Here they are lived, not just named.

01

Courtesy

Treating others with consideration and good manners, on and off the mat.

02

Courage

Doing what is right and facing the challenge, even when it is hard.

03

Honesty

Speaking the truth and acting without deceit.

04

Honor

Staying true to your word and the principles you hold.

05

Modesty

Speaking and behaving with humility, without arrogance.

06

Respect

For the sensei, your partner, the hierarchy and the tatami.

07

Self-control

Mastering emotions and strength with calm and judgment.

08

Friendship

The purest bond: growing alongside those who share the path.
